Vintage Japanese Wood Carving Tool Set from Occupied Japan (Set of 11)

$10.00Price

All are marked NS and MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN, and they were wrapped in a newspaper dated November 1968. The date suggests our mother Nancy Chandler bought these when passing through Japan in 1968. The MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN suggests these were made as late as 1952 when the requirement to label them such ended.

They appear unused but some are tarnished from age. See photos. All the blades are firmly in place, one with a little chip of wood inserted presumably to ensure it is in place.

Average length is 6”
