Vintage Maasai Married Woman’s Beaded Collar Necklace

We believe this was purchased by our mother in Tanzania in the late 1960s. Our understanding is this is traditional Maasai bead work worn by married women of the nomadic people in Kenya and Tanzania. According to Africa and Beyond, beads represent a woman’s wealth. The colors and patterns represent clan affiliations.
 
This piece seems in original condition although the leather at the back of the neck is showing signs of age.
