Vintage ‘Mason Magic Scoop’ & Bottle Opener

The "Mason Magic scoop" is a vintage aluminum ice cream scoop manufactured by the L.E. Mason Co. in Boston in the the mid-20th century. The "magic" feature of the scoop is a dimple in the center of the utensil, which is designed to help release the ice cream. The handle end of this model also features a Phillips-head screw that can double as a bottle opener.
 
It is marked MASON MAGIC SCOOP on one side of the handle, with ‘L.E. Mason Co., Boston, Mass. Pat App’d For’ in smaller lettering. 
 
This scoop has some patina and a slightly dented outer rim (we dropped it during photography)… Otherwise it is in good vintage condition. We have heard however that it might leave a grey residue on ice cream. We leave it to a buyer to find out if that is true.
