Vintage Miao Tribal Unmarked White Brass and Silver Alloy 4 Band Bangles 7.5"

This bracelet features four bangles held together by a peg on one side, allowing the bangles to move. 
 
Our online research found only a few similar pieces, all identified as originating from the Miao people in southern China. Miao Silver is reportedly a mix of white brass and silver, which would explain why it tested negative for silver purity using a home acid test. We are pricing it as an alloy.
 
We believe this may have been picked up by our grandmother during her China travels in the 1930s or at a later date in a tribal market in Thailand by our mother in the 1970s or 1980s. It is in very good vintage condition although in need of polishing, which we were told to leave to buyers to do. There is a small dent on one of the outer bands as shown in photos, whether from the hand crafting process of an ‘accident’ later, we do not know.
