Vintage Navajo Pearl Sterling Silver Adjustable Necklace 16”-22”
WE ARE SUBMITTING THIS TO AN AUCTION HOUSE SO IT MAY ALREADY BE UNAVAILABLE
This unsigned unmarked chunky necklace features 3/4” (19mm) diameter Navajo Pearl, or Desert Pearl, saucer shaped beads, each engraved or stamped with a scalloped pattern on both sides. These sterling silver beads were handmade by skilled Navajo silversmiths, or Dine, the engraved pattern an artist’s unique stamp. We were unable to identify the artist however.
We found this necklace in our grandmother’s jewelry collection. She may have inherited it from her grand aunts, the Burr sisters, or collected it herself at some point during her life.
It is in good vintage condition, with a rich patina, but between the beads there is a darker tarnishing that one might wish to have polished or cleaned.
Length adjustable 16”-22” (note that between 18” and 21”, the extra chain below the clasp may not be centered in the back due to the design of this piece).
Approx. 4 oz (113.4g)
