Vintage Olive Japanese Teapot with Rattan, 4 1/4” TallHandle

This special short and squat teapot hails from Japan (see Made in Japan sticker on rattan handle in photos). The spout has some damage, a crack on the left side and what appears to be a glazing scar on the right side. We are not sure when or where this was purchased or by whom – we would venture a guess it was picked up in the 1960s or 1970s - but it had a special place in our mother’s house as a décor item. It does not appear to have ever been used, the interior of the pot spotless but for glaze dribbles.
