Vintage Peruvian 925 Silver Tea Strainer

This tea strainer features ornate floral silver work. It is stamped PERU 925 on the back, and tested positive for silver on a home acid test.
 
Tea strainers are designed to sit on top of a teacup or mug, holding loose tea leaves while water is poured over them, the strainer preventing leaves from entering the cup. 
 
We are not sure how this piece made its way into our family’s treasures but it is in very good condition, the only ‘damage’ the slight discoloration on the back in the shape of what we guess was a price sticker, as well as a few hardly visible scratches.
