Vintage Shreve & Co Sterling Silver Pocket Watch Black Face 15 Jewels (Untested)

This appears to be a rare pocket watch, most found online of the same design with white face instead of black. 
 
Marked Shreve & Co in wonderful old fonts inside and out, it is a half double hunter watch with protective viewing cover on the front that snaps on and off, and full cover on the back. (The name hunter watch reportedly comes from horse riders who needed to check the time with one hand while holding the reins). Open the cover on the back and you find markings inside. Then open the inner cover to view the 15 Jewels SHREVE & CO. SAN FRANCISCO inner workings of the piece and repeat markings indicating the watch is 0,935 STERLING SILVER.
 
There are several other numbers inside the two back covers, the serial number believed to be 4595817.
 
This is sold AS IS. We do not have the time or resources to have it inspected / restored. The winding mechanism turns but we were unable to get it working. It does have scratches inside and out as visible in photos but not so visible to the naked eye. We understand that, once restored, it could be worth double what we are asking.
