Vintage WW2 Era Pantographic ‘Paratrooper’ Pocket Knife, c 1940s

$40.00Price

This brass encased knife slides out with the little lock is raised, the jointed sides pulled outwards and then the lower section pushed forward until the handle reforms at the base of the one-sided blade. There is no branding or other identification on the piece.

See Wikipedia for a good explanation of its history and use. (It was never issued to paratroopers to Wikipedia’s knowledge and it is not a German WWII knife despite similar listings online for knifes with German branding which were, according to Wikipedia, designed and marketed AFTER the war.): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pantographic_knife

We did not attempt to polish the brass or clean this knife, as visible in photos. It still moves as intended, although a bit stubborn, which is probably for the best…

Fully extended, the knife and handle are 5 1/2” long, the blade 3” long included.
