Winona Wenzlick (1907-2002): Travel Sketches: Villa Dolce, Garoet, Java 1934

Our grandmother, Winona Wenzlick Sands, sketched this while on a world tour in 1934-1935 with her aunts, the Burr sisters. Presumably, they stayed at what was once the Grand Hotel Villa Dolce in Garoet, Java, Indonesia. 
 
This is an original. Several more of her original travel sketches are at the California Historical Society. 
 
This is in an older cream folder with cut out for the artwork. The original artwork inside has been glued to the back of the folder, and the signature and location are penciled in just below the artwork. There are the remnants of glue or tape in the lower right hand corner of the art. Otherwise, the artwork is in good condition for its age.
