Winona Wenzlick Sands (1907-2002): American Airways Brochure Cover Concept, 1932

$10.00Price

Note: The plane in this piece is much redder than our camera was able to capture.

Our grandmother, Winona Wenzlick Sands, worked on design concepts for all sorts of companies, including pencil producers, furniture shops, and, as in this case, airlines. This is a cover pulled from a conceptual brochure created for American Airlines, signed Winona Wenzlick 1932 in the back of the brochure (signature not included). We believe it was silkscreened. Most of the pages were stained but this cover has only minor marks in the lower right corner. The colors are still strong and clear. The backside, as shown in photos is not so striking. We could see this framed and posted in a home of an aviation fan.
