Winona Wenzlick Sands (1907-2002): American Airways Route Map Design, 1932

$15.00Price

Note: The red on this piece is much redder than shown in photos.

Our grandmother, Winona Wenzlick Sands, worked on design concepts for all sorts of companies, including pencil producers, furniture shops, and, as in this case, airlines. This is a route map pulled from a conceptual brochure she created for American Airlines, signed Winona Wenzlick 1932 in the back of the brochure (signature not included). Most of the pages were stained but this centerfold is in relatively good condition, with limited signs of the time that has passed since it was created. The colors are still strong and clear, the layout gorgeous (in our opinion). The backside, as shown in photos is not so striking. We could see this framed and posted in a home of an aviation fan.
