Winona Wenzlick Sands (1907-2002): Lady in Red (Copy)
Our grandmother, Winona Wenzlick Sands, loved doing fabulous fantastical fashion sketches. This one is not titled or signed but was part of an exhibit of her work at The Heritage in San Francisco. We love that there is an ‘unfinished’ foot and shoe remaining, intentional or not. We believe she created this in the early 1930s.
This is a high quality color copy of the original, which we believe is in the exhibits at the California Historical Society. It has a black spot in the lower left of the image and two spots above. It is a tiny bit warped in the right side opposite her shoulder.
