Wood Carved Statuettes: Origin Unknown (Set of 2)
The things you learn. We’ve had these two in our lives for decades and I was always sure they were Inuit, perhaps bought by our mother when we visited Alaska in the early 1970s. I was wrong. But where they came from and when remains a mystery.
The taller one stands with hands at his waist, joined in the middle. The shorter one has his hands higher up and appears to be wearing a buttoned jacket…
They are both vintage and each has at least one big crack - the smaller one has a crack down the middle, and larger one has one down the back. Neither is going to fall apart anytime soon however. They were very dry when we found them in storage and we have used lemon oil to polish them up a bit.
Smaller H 8” x Diameter 2 1/4”
Larger H 8 3/4” x Diameter 2 1/4”
